Our session was unscripted.
We used the Throw Like Youri Intro held in Templemore, IE in June, 2024.
The session followed how Hoyt and Ted responded to Carl's guidance.
Their feedback was critical to have them feel positive changes immediately not needing to repeat something 1,000s of times til it's easier.
Youri increased the velocity of the hammer ball over long acceleration paths. He moved the hammer with his hands with his lower and upper bodies separated from below the shoulders and above including the shoulders.
Youri used a very powerful swing into his entry and first passive turn. He told me to swing it like a baseball bat in 1975. After trying it, Ben Hogan's baseball-golf swing was the best way to do it.
Youri's two easy winds had their purpose to incrementally increase both the size of the orbit and the position of the low point and the velocity of the hammer ball.
Hoyt and Ted try doing Youri's winds and powerful entry swing while Carl shows them how to be on balance and use the hammer to help them rotate.
Hoyt and Ted work on being on balance with the hammer ball. Carl shows them how to move their center of mass and reduce the torque on their knees to zero.
We worked on timing catching the hammer ball with the right foot and then swinging immediately with the hands.
Pushing with the right and transitioning to the leftt hand makes it easier to swing the hammer long left.
We worked on putting together several of the elements that we worked on.
Chapter 3 of Carl's first book is titled Taz Nasat. Spelled Таз назад in Russian means pelvis back. Hoyt asked what is it?
